Formats, structures and features.

Three decisions make a pouch: the format it takes on shelf, the film structure that protects what’s inside, and the features that make it open, reclose and run on your line. Here is the full range of each — and if what you need is a container, a label or a packaging component rather than a pouch, ask about that too.

Three Massive Pack Solutions pouches — organic goji berries, chia seeds and green detox matcha — angled above their shadows.
A grid of MPS-branded packaging: stand-up pouches, flat-bottom bags, sachets, stick packs, bottles and jars in a range of colours.
Pouches, sachets, stick packs and rigid containers, all built to the formats below.

Eleven ways to hold a product

Every format below runs on our own converting lines. Hover or tap one to see what it does best.

  • Stand-up pouch

The default for retail shelf. A bottom gusset lets it stand and face forward, with the biggest usable print area per gram of film.

  • Flat bottom

Five printable panels and a box-like footprint. The premium format for coffee and pet food, and the most stable on a shelf.

  • Quad seal

Sealed at all four corners for a rigid, square profile. Strong vertical panels and excellent stacking in the case.

  • Side gusset

The classic coffee bag. Expands as it fills, takes a degassing valve well and ships flat before use.

  • Pillow bag

The most film-efficient format there is. Made on form-fill-seal lines, ideal for high-speed snack filling.

  • Rollstock film

Printed and laminated film on the reel, wound and slit to your machine. For anyone filling on their own FFS line.

  • Vacuum bag

High-puncture structures for meat, seafood and cheese, engineered to survive evacuation and cold chain.

  • Spouted pouch

Fitments for liquids, purees and baby food. Spout size and position specified to your filler and your consumer.

  • Zipper / resealable

Press-to-close, slider or pocket zipper — chosen for how many times the pack really gets opened.

  • Box pouch

A flat bottom with squared side gussets. Shelf presence close to a carton, at a fraction of the material.

  • Sachet / stick pack

Single-serve formats for powders, seasonings and supplements. Runs fast, ships light, portions exactly.

  • Still deciding?

Send your product and how it fills. We'll come back with the format and the film structure.

Film structure

A pouch wall is a laminate, not a bag

Each layer does one job. Change your product and the stack changes with it — this is the part of the quote most suppliers leave off.

  1. 01

    Coffee, high aroma

    PET12 / AL7 / PE80

Foil barrier plus a one-way valve. The reference structure when aroma retention decides the purchase.

  2. 02

    Snacks, dry goods

    PET12 / VMPET12 / PE60

Metallised film gives most of foil's light and oxygen barrier at a lower cost and a softer hand.

  3. 03

    Recycle-ready

    PE / PE / PE

Mono-material polyethylene, store drop-off compatible. Lower oxygen barrier — right for shorter shelf life.

  4. 04

    Frozen, cold chain

    PET12 / NY15 / PE100

Nylon adds puncture and cold-crack resistance so seals survive the freezer and the drop test.

Representative structures. Yours is specified against your product, fill method and shelf-life target.
